Staying the course Wills has stayed with WWIV, working as a house manager before becoming an assistant to the women’s coordinator. She now holds meetings at the organization’s homes, keeps track of medications, and helps women struggling with many of the same situations she faced in the past. Wills says she knows what they’re going through and encourages all of the women to stay strong and keep fighting for recovery. “You’ve got to stay focused and keep on going,” Wills says. “Do not leave five minutes before the miracle happens.” Wills recently completed training to become a recovery house specialist, and down the line she hopes to go to college and become a peer counselor. She says she wants to take the lessons on perseverance and resilience that she learned through her own struggles, and use them to help others in need. “I want to help other people get to the other side,” Wills says. “That’s my main focus, I try to give back to people what was so freely given to me.”
